Relationships, Dave Chappelle, and 2025

Dear Blog Diary,

It’s unfair to judge a dead artist’s body of work while another is still creating art. Thus my favorite comedian is George Carlin.

But really it’s Chappelle.

When Patrick Swayze was alive, he saw his life in chapters based on the animals that he had.

Such a beautiful way to gauge time in your life.

I always said that I want to get a second dog while Kuma is still alive. I want that new dog to know her. In my mind, the next one will be a mini goldendoodle named Yuzu.

I’ve wondered if I can love the next dog like I love Kuma. Reality is, I won’t.

I will be a different me and that chapter of my life will be different.

Swayze.

Funny thing is, I lightweight do the same thing with Chappelle standup.

When the Netflix ones dropped 8 years ago, my life was entirely different. Where I lived, the cigarettes, whole nine.

His specials drop out of no where and then game on.

Dave is a story teller that’s funny. Yes some people hate him. That’s cool. In his most recent special Dave said “fuck that guy” about Bill Maher who I fuck with.

Interesting dynamic in life. Love and hate aren’t the right words but you love two people who hate each other.

Why is it you don’t see in each other what I see?

At the end of every Chappelle special there is the black and white montage of photos of Dave with people.

This is why I take pictures with people and I post them in black and white on Instagram. It’s truly beautiful to remember, appreciate, be grateful.

How we become screens in each other’s lives. People I held so dear, now, lucky to get a response after a few days. They don’t even see me on a screen in color. Only black and white.

To those in my pictures, thank you for staying in my life. To those I didn’t take pictures with that saw me, we should! To those not in a single picture, maybe time to reconnect and honestly maybe not.

With the most recent Chappelle special drop, it’s a time for new beginnings.

Within next few years I plan on getting a Yuzu. Maybe the next special I’ll watch with both pups on my couch in a city I live in that I never expected. Last one was Denver.

Another year down. Hope to see you next year in color.
