My blog consisting of my mind written out with zero regard to what anyone thinks. No conversations. Simply my mind.

Who are you?

Dear Blog Diary,

Just like there are always three sides to every story (yours, mine, and the truth), there are three people to every person.  There’s the person they want you to see, the person they see in the mirror, and who they truly are.  The goal is to have all three be one in the same.  The difficulty lies in the faking who you are to others, being repulsed by the mirror, and lacking courage to embrace who you truly are right wrong or indifferent.  All ego.

I’ve always found it interesting when people say “just be yourself.”  As if that is a new concept and also that they think it’s such a simple task.  External pressures to conform or live up to standards, navigating social etiquette, emotional intelligence reading other people, and keep in mind that you have to know yourself first before you can be that.

“Know thyself and know thy enemy and you need not fear the result of 100 battles.”

Sun Tzu said that.

“Knowing thyself is a hard enough battle.”

I said that.

Cheers,

Eric
