Friday the 13th
Dear Blog Diary,
I wonder if Miley Cyrus could get away with making Party in the USA today.
Everything keeps on bubbling. Sooner or later it’s gunna bubble over and until then, so much tension.
Too much certainty in the world and everyone is on the right side of history. Within one weekend, there were nationwide protests and I’m sure a wee bit of rioting, a super coincidental army parade, and political assassinations.
We just had Friday the 13th.
Jason Voohrees, as in Jason from the Friday the 13th movies. You picturing him?
Did you know that Jason doesn’t actually wear a hockey mask until the third movie? And yet worldwide that mask is synonymous with the lake-dwelling slasher.
It’s incredibly normal. What we know someone to be is not at all how they started and often there is something distinguishable that you automatically recognize. Strategically, characters develop that way.
Original Batman suit wasn’t black. The original McDonald’s had zero yellow M’s. Watch Home Alone 2. Donald Trump’s hair was not orange.
There’s benefit in having a look that you remember, even if it’s a clown (did you picture Pennywise?).
Ice Spice, Pauly D, Flavor Flav, Slipknot, Hitler…Pending you know who they are, I don’t have to describe. Just google Elton John. Man has more glasses than songs.
Here we are though. An orange-haired, ego-driven wild President.
Did he also grow into being what he is today? He’s human so, sure. Everyday brings an experience that molds you into the person you are, maybe without you realizing it, in real time.
To those who voted for Trump, who are upset that ICE is neglecting due process damaging your community, those hurting based on the tariffs…
You wanted this. Don’t act like Trump is pulling wildcards out here. He’s doing exactly what he said he would, apart from ending the conflict in Ukraine, bringing peace in Israel, cutting taxes, making housing and everyday expenditures affordable, and improving international diplomacy because who the fuck manages to muddy the waters with Canada??? ALL. DRESSED. CHIPS. Love the great white north.
With everything polarized and demonized, by both sides, where being patriotic is a touchy subject, I ask only one thing.
Enjoy the party (in the USA).
Best,
E
